Creatine monohydrate increases phosphocreatine stores, improving high-intensity performance by 10-15% and lean mass gains (Kreider et al., 2017). The trial usually cited here (Shaw et al., 2017, PMID 27852613) gave 15g of vitamin C enriched gelatin, not collagen peptides, to 8 men, and measured a blood marker of collagen synthesis plus engineered ligaments treated with their serum. It did not measure tendon or ligament recovery. Magnesium is critical for muscle protein synthesis and is depleted by intense exercise. Vitamin D3 supports testosterone production and muscle function.
At 5g daily, creatine saturation takes about 3-4 weeks (no loading phase needed). You may notice improved rep capacity and reduced muscle fatigue during training. Ensure adequate hydration.
Collagen is supporting connective tissue repair. Magnesium is improving sleep quality, which is when most muscle repair occurs. Track your training volume to see if you're recovering faster between sessions.
Creatine stores are approaching full saturation. Vitamin D is optimizing testosterone and muscle protein synthesis pathways. You should notice measurable improvements in strength or endurance by now.
All four supplements are safe for indefinite daily use. Creatine is most effective when taken continuously. No cycling needed. Consider periodic blood work (vitamin D, magnesium RBC) to verify levels.
