L-Tyrosine · Caffeine + Theanine · Alpha-GPC. The deep-work stack
Skip alpha-GPC if you have bipolar disorder, because choline can intensify mood cycling. Tyrosine can interact with thyroid meds and MAOIs, so check with your doctor if you're on either.

L-Tyrosine is the precursor to dopamine and norepinephrine. Supplementation under cognitive stress preserves working memory and reaction time (Jongkees et al., 2015). Caffeine with L-theanine improved attention switching and alertness compared with caffeine alone in a controlled trial (Owen et al., 2008, PMID 18681988). That source is a single trial, not a meta-analysis. Alpha-GPC supports acetylcholine synthesis; the figure of five times baseline plasma choline within an hour is carried here without a source, because the citation previously given for it could not be resolved at PubMed.
Caffeine + theanine + tyrosine effects are immediate (~45 min after dose). You should be feeling steady, jitter-free alertness with longer focus stretches by day 3-4.
Alpha-GPC takes 1-2 weeks to fully saturate brain choline. Working memory and verbal fluency should improve noticeably this week.
Review your deep-work block count. The whole stack is safe for ongoing use, but consider cycling tyrosine 5-on/2-off to preserve receptor sensitivity.
